Slipway winch
For maintenance, wooden boats were pulled out of the sea with carts on which the boat would sail onto pulled by a rope along the slipway for pulling out the boats.
For the needs of the former shipyard, back in the days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire a winch was acquired, on which the inscription “MASCHINEN FABRIK WIEN, C. LEUTELT X. B.” HIMBERGER STR. 43“ is still visible. The winch was also used at the time of the Crvena zvijezda shipyard and until the 80s of the 20th century for the needs of the local population.
With the joint effort of Tourist board Fažana, JK Brioni, Maritime Sports and Fishing Association Sardela and Modrušan metalwork, the winch was restored and on the 5th of July 2022 has been put in its original place.
